Introducing...Robware!

At The Women’s Bakery (TWB), we are always looking to expand our impact and refine our bakery model. This includes process improvement and increasing output at each of our bakeries. We are deeply grateful to have Rob van Erven share his expertise with TWB and help us do just this.

Rob van Erven is a technical baker and food process expert.  Rob van Erven has been working with our team for over two years, and because of his counsel, training, templates, and expertise, TWB is stronger than ever.

TWB has lacked a centralized database for tracking bakery operations. Rob has developed  a specialized software for TWB - Robware, aimed at tracking production and sales more effectively thereby propelling us closer to profitability. . We are working to implement this database and hope to fully harness it’s capabilities in the first quarter of 2021. TWB is grateful to Rob for volunteering his time to develop and train our team on this impactful tool!

What do the Bakery Program Managers think about this new database?

Tessa Soni, Ruyenzi Program Manager

  • “Robware”, as we have called it, will help us better account for our sales, production, and our inventory usage -- which is a key element in reducing costs and more quickly reaching profitability. We will combine previously used separate excel documents into one system that all bakery managers can use.”

Charlotte Musengimana, Gicumbi Program Manager

  • “I began training for Robware at the beginning of November 2020 and am delighted to receive new skills and knowledge. Rob has so far provided invaluable equipment training for the oven, proofer, and mixer. I am excited to learn more about quality control (production) and financial control, and implement these skills at Gicumbi bakery.”

Francoise Umutoniwase, Kigali Flagship Program Manager

  • “Rob taught us many things, specifically at the Kigali bakery we learned a new recipe and a new product (Baguette). We are grateful -- the added menu item is already increasing profit, and Robware is a system we needed in our daily work to improve production and finance processes. Thank you Rob for spending your time with TWB and sharing your expertise and skills with us. It is an enormous contribution and we appreciate your support.”
