FRANCOISE UMUTONIWASE
Development and Communications Manager
Francoise is a master storyteller who believes in the power of expression and sharing ideas with others. Francoise imagines marketing as a tool that can be leveraged to convey crucial messages to communities – not only about products – but about people, possibility, and change. Thus, she has integrated her passion for marketing and her enthusiasm for people to instigate positive change.
Francoise’s experience in marketing and communications began when she began to study topics of interest in secondary school, like history and economics. A common theme, she realized, was the passing of information and ideas. While at the Adventist University of Central Africa, she selected marketing as her major because she wanted to be a part of a movement to connect people to innovation. Prior to her role with TWB, Francoise worked as TWB’s Marketing Intern for a year, gaining crucial experience inside a TWB bakery, and learning how to market TWB’s product, acquire business to business contracts, and advocate for the business in Rwanda.
In her role as the Program Manager for the Kigali Flagship Bakery, Francoise manages all aspects of business operations, oversees staff, and encourages open communication to promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
Francoise spends a great deal of her free time with her family and enjoys traveling throughout her home country – and beyond. She is most inspired by her parents and by Oprah, who brings a sense of motivation and hope to the world.
